Will Hawkins
Will Hawkins is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter best known as the
frontman of the Americana rock band Nine Mile Station. His work blends vivid storytelling,
melodic depth, and a rootsy sensibility that bridges classic and contemporary sounds.
Drawing from rock, folk, and soul influences, Hawkins collaborated with Grammy-winning producers Al Schmitt (Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney) and Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Warren Zevon) on Nine Mile Station’s 2023 debut album BAZAR. These collaborations have elevated Hawkins’ sound and solidified his profile as a respected songwriter and storyteller of depth and soul.
His forthcoming self-produced album, Cartas No Enviadas (Unsent Letters), features original songs written during his final years spent in New York City and during his first chapter living in the eclectic Venice Beach neighborhood he now calls home. The collection also includes select covers of favorite songs by Colin Hay, David Poe, and Lola Young. Hawkins had set these solo tracks aside while focusing on promoting Nine Mile Station’s debut, but now he’s ready to share them with the world.
These tracks explore themes of adversity, resilience, and redemption and features performances by iconic players including bassist Leland Sklar (James Taylor, Linda Ronstandt, Marty Rifkin (Bruce Springsteen, Glen Campbell) on pedal steel, Steve Ferrone,(Tom Petty, Melissa Etheridge) on drums, backing vocals by Dan Rothchild (Echo In The Canyon Band, Robby Krieger Band), bassist Ted Russell Kamp (Shooter Jennnings, Jonathan Wilson), and multi-instrumentalist Fernando Perdomo (Jacob Dylan, Fiona Apple) with Will delivering powerful vocal performances and thoughtful storytelling.
